PROJECT STORY

Ecotourism, Heritage, & Conservation

A conservation portfolio that protects cultural landscapes while creating dignified economic pathways around place, identity, and stewardship.

Overview

At the Elizka Relief Foundation, we don’t view tourism merely as an industry. We view it as a powerful mechanism for environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and economic vitality. By connecting travellers with the tangible history of our people and the natural beauty of our landscape, we ensure that our heritage is not just remembered it is protected.

Our Conservation Philosophy

We promote responsible travel that respects the environment and sustains the well-being of local communities. Our programmes are designed to create knowledge and understanding through active interpretation.

A percentage of proceeds from our heritage tours is directly reinvested into the restoration of riparian buffers and biodiversity monitoring in our target project landscapes. When our travelers visit a site, they are not just spectators; they are active contributors to the long-term preservation of that landscape.

Exploring Ghana: A Journey Through Time & Nature

Our tours are carefully curated to showcase the diversity of Ghana from our coastal history to our deep forest reserves.

In partnership with local Traditional Councils and government partners, we facilitate access to the sites that define the Ghanaian story.

Historical Landmarks & Cultural Heritage

  • Coastal Legacy: The Forts and Castles along the coast, from the shores of Beyin in the Western Region to the historic Keta in the Volta Region.

  • Asante Heritage: The ten remaining Asante Traditional Buildings in and around Kumasi, preserving the architectural and spiritual history of the Ashanti Kingdom.

  • Unique Settlements: The stilt village of Nzulezu and the ancestral Tengzug-Tallensi settlements.

  • Spiritual & Religious History: The Navrongo Catholic Cathedral and the ancient Trade Pilgrimage Routes of North-Western Ghana.
