Founder's Manifesto

EST. 2024

"We aren't asking for a seat at the table anymore; we are building our own."

“I started the Elizka Relief Foundation because I saw that we were fighting for the future, but we were leaving the most powerful force in Ghana—our youth—outside the room.
We were winning on the global stage, but when I stepped onto the riverbanks in the Basins, or sat with the local aquaculture collectives, I saw a disconnect.

I didn’t start the Sankofa Stewardship Assembly to add another project to our portfolio. I started it because I’m tired of seeing Ghana’s brightest minds sidelined. I want to see our data scientists, our aquaculture experts, and our legal minds sitting across from the National House of Chiefs and the Ministry of Finance, not as interns, but as peers.

We have the hard data. We have the traditional blessing of the Stool. We have the global weight of Elizka’s accreditations. This Assembly is the permanent home for that energy. We aren’t asking for a seat at the table anymore; we are building our own.”"

Governance: The Dual-Pillar Advantage

Governance: The Dual-Pillar Advantage

The Asanteman Anchor

We draw our foundational mandate from the wisdom of Asanteman. Our work is rooted in traditional land stewardship, ensuring our initiatives are culturally sustainable and backed by ancestral authority.

The NHC Integration

We act as a technical partner to the National House of Chiefs (NHC). By providing high-fidelity, evidence-based data on river basin health and biodiversity, we empower the institution of Chieftaincy to be a central actor in national development.

The Sankofa Seat

Every official session reserves a “Sankofa Seat.” This is a mandatory, procedural inclusion of a designated Elder or Traditional Representative. No policy regarding land, culture, or resource management is passed without their formal acknowledgment.

The Four Chambers

We do not just advocate. We operate through these technical policy hubs:
CHAMBER I

Ecological Heritage

River Basin & Biodiversity Restoration. Protecting the lifeblood of Ghana.
CHAMBER II

Blue Economy

Sustainable Aquaculture Value Chains. Resilient food systems for all.
CHAMBER III

Innovation & Prosperity

Precision Tech & Digital Mapping. Navigating the data-driven future.
CHAMBER IV

Traditional Oversight

Cultural Governance & Law. Legal frameworks built on ethics.

Our Commitment: Leaving No One Behind (LNOB)

We refuse to build a Ghana that works only for the able-bodied or the urban elite.

Indigenous Knowledge

We actively protect and leverage indigenous wisdom. Communities are our co-designers.

Gender Parity

Women are the backbone of rural economies. We dismantle leadership barriers.

Universal Design

If our policy cannot be used by a person with a disability, we consider it a failure.
Institutional Allies

Trusted by institutions that help turn local restoration into shared momentum.

From resilience networks to governance bodies and global environmental platforms, these relationships expand the reach and legitimacy of Elizka’s work.

A living coalition across governance, climate action, research, livelihoods, and resilient landscapes.
